The competitions of the Iraqi Universities Chess Championship for female students were launched at 10:00 a.m. yesterday morning on Monday, Jan. 17, 2022, organized by Student Activities Dept. in Scientific Supervision and Evaluation Authority in the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research, and hosted by the University of Technology in cooperation with Al-Rafidain University College and Al-Mustafa University, with the participation of 16 teams representing universities, governmental and private in Baghdad and governorates.
Director of Student Activities Dept. at U.O.T. , Asst. Prof. Dr. Najah Salman, said that the championship competitions will be held according to the Swiss system of 7 rounds. In the first round, teams of Diyalah universities will meet with Central Technical University, Dhi Qar University with University of Technology, Karbala with the National University of Science and Technology, and Basra with Al Turath University College and Al-Mustansiriyah with Al-Rafidain College, Babylon with Al-Farabi College, Baghdad with Al Mustaqbal University College and Information and Communication Technology with Al-Mustafa College.
He added that the 2nd round will be held on Monday, with 3 rounds to take place on Tuesday and Wednesday will be the last round.
