The Sports Activities Division is responsible for the following tasks:

  1. Managing the affairs of the department determining the supervisory committees for sports activities and preparing the agenda for periodic meetings.
  2. Preparing the annual sports tournaments program and supervising its implementation in the place and time specified after its approval and issuing the regulations and instructions according to the Ministry's instructions.
  3. Following up on the progress of sports tournaments for the colleges or institutes of the university.
  4. Evaluating the performance of workers in implementing the annual sports activities program by adopting the criteria of total quality.
  5. Evaluating the results of the participation of colleges and institutes in the annual program prepared according to a scientific standard.
  6. Continuous field follow-up of the reality of facilities and infrastructure for sports activities in the university.
  7. Preparing a database for the department and issuing regulations and instructions for sports activities according to the Ministry's instructions.
  8. Following up on the progress of sports tournaments for universities (within their internal activity) and determining the committees supervising these tournaments.
  9. Submitting reports on the results of sports activities and preparing them for approval in the evaluation system for student activities departments in universities.
  10. Following up on the recommendations of the special committees to consider the objections submitted by the colleges and institutes during the tournaments and submitting detailed reports on them to the department.

Since the establishment of the Department of the Student Activities in 1975, it was called Youth Welfare Department at that time. Its affiliates have been entertaining the student by engaging students in sports and artistic activities.

Holding various sports tournaments, various artistic festivals and camping, which contribute to raising the level of students’ awareness, the expansion of their perceptions, and the wonderful psychological impact on them, which pushes them to academic excellence and to contribute to initiatives.

 The department is developing aspects that affect the educational process and in an effort to prepare and direct The new generation and the youth according to the goals we seek.

Preparing a programmed plan for the units of physical education in the scientific and engineering departments and in response to the tendencies and desires of students to achieve integration

In the personality of the individual in terms of the physical and intellectual aspects, and the refinement of their social behavior, by participating in sports festivals, youth gatherings and scout camping. As well as the work of our department, through its programs, in investing the students' free time

Making them getting familiar with cooperation and teamwork and contribute to the preparation and prior planning of the university championship races with organized and individual games.
